Dr. Jeb Card is an Associate Teaching Professor of Anthropology. He received his Ph.D. from Tulane University. He specializes in Mesoamerican archaeology, the relationship between archaeology and conceptions of the past, historical archaeology, early colonialism, material culture hybridity, ceramic analysis, and pre-Hispanic Maya political history. His fieldwork has predominantly been in Mesoamerica, chiefly in El Salvador, with additional experience in the archaeology of the eastern United States. Dr. Card is the author of "Spooky Archaeology: Myth and the Science of the Past." One of the courses he teaches at Miami University is ATH 113: Investigating the Paranormal, which examines the scientific method by investigating paranormal topics such as data collection with ghost hunting gear, creating an enchanted landscape, and ecological realities related to Bigfoot.
